Don Pauldo was born in a bathtub and as a young man set out to sail the great sea in a baritone uke, drifting from Newfoundland to the Cape of Great Ukes. The great-grandnephew of Tom Dooley, he gained notoriety in 1950 by making a cameo appearance at the Beachcomber in Waikiki selling smokes out of the back of his Gentleman's Uke.
